The Borghese Gallery is a museum in Rome, Italy. Its collection comprises several sculptures and paintings by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Caravaggio, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Rubens, Titian. The museum is housed in Villa Borghese Pinciana, a palace built between 1613 and 1616 for Cardinal Scipione Caffarelli-Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V (Camillvs Bvrghesivm). In 1902, the Italian State definitively acquired the whole, ensuring public benefit.
